Martín Gusinde was an eminente Austrian ethnologist, priest of the verbo divino congregation. He was an outstanding scientist and was sent to Magallanes in 1918 to study the rests of the autocton etnias of the southern territory. His work was published in “Die Feuerland Indianer” edited in 3 books in Berlin. His studies are a fundamental piece to any work of investigation about the natives that dwelt in Tierra del Fuego. Puerto Williams museum (Navarino Island) also has his name. |
